The mission of Hamden's Partnership for Young Children is to work with families and the communities to plan, coordinate, and improve services for all children. We seek to ensure that our children are healthy, start school ready to learn, perform successfully in school, and have stable, economically self-sufficient families so they may grow up to become productive, contributing members of society.
We believe that families, schools, and communities are partners in the rearing and education of our children. We truly believe that “it takes a village to raise a child.” That is why leaders from our town and its public schools have convened Hamden's Partnership for Young Children – to strengthen efforts toward achieving early childhood success for all our children.
Hamden's Partnership for Young Children is made up of a group of professionals, parents, and grandparents who are concerned about the future of our children. We are working together to make a difference in the quality of education that children receive before entering kindergarten.
We understand that this is a lot for families to do on their own, and that is why we are here to help. This website is designed to provide you with the information needed to raise children who grow up happy, healthy and ready to learn and be successful in school.
You’ll find information on choosing the best preschool provider for your child, health and nutrition, and ways to teach your child what he/she needs to know at home, too. You’ll also find an events’ calendar with information regarding family-friendly events that are happening in town or close by. We hope that you find our website helpful and that you continue to come back and use it time and time again.
